This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Keeping my children safe is my first concern. I want my children to be safe and to feel safe. I do not know who is or isn't vaccinated in my classroom due to confidentiality. But if everyone is wearing a mask, both my vaccinated and unvaccinated children, and their families, will be safe from the viruses that want to hurt us. Covid-19 is still an active virus and it's making some of our families sick. Winter is coming and the flu virus is on its way. We want to stop the spread of these viruses as quickly as possible.

These masks with fun designs will encourage my students to protect themselves and their classmates.

Our school has given us some masks, but most are too large for the kids' faces. I have to tie the ear loops to help the masks stay on and up. They are fine for protection after being adjusted. But these KN95 masks have 5 layers of protection instead of three and they are shaped to allow the children to speak without having the cloth enter their mouths. I will be able to hear them enunciating and reading. And because these masks are fun colors and designs, they will want to wear them! The hot weather makes us take them off outside, and we need to get new ones when we enter the room. These fun masks will be hard to miss. These masks will help to protect everyone in our classroom and the school yard.
