My Students
At the front of my classroom is the quote, "Exceed Expectations!" I always encourage my students to go beyond what is expected of them and strive to always work harder, practice more, be better, and to go beyond what teachers, parents, coaches, and friends expect out of them. My class is a diverse group of curious, active, and determined students.
I strive to create a happy and comfortable classroom where children can enjoy learning and each other.
My students aspire to do their best in school and they are very interested in technology. I enjoy placing technology in their hands so they can use it in many ways on a daily basis. Our school qualifies as a moderate poverty school.
My Project
I love teaching history and I have just found a most wonderful book that will bring the history of the Revolutionary War alive for my students. My class has been remote learning since March 2020 and will remain remote for the rest of the year. We will be studying the causes of the American Revolution during our final trimester. It is more difficult to keep students interested in Social Studies topics during remote learning, so I need something that will really hold their attention. I don't want them to have the problem of not being excited out learning about our history.
This book was recommended to me and I had so much fun reading and learned a whole lot more than I thought I already knew about the Causes of the Revolutionary War and I want to share it with my students.
I could not put this book down as it made learning about the revolution fun and engaging. It is thoroughly researched based and the author brings in all sorts of humorous and interesting observations, so that learning about this period in history becomes a story that is connected together rather than just a list of facts, people, and battles. I know my students will get greater understanding by reading this book and I can't wait to share it with them.
