Kindness Express: Student Created Project to Spread Kindness
Help me give my students the ability to carry out their own creative project to spread kindness across the school and in the community with "Kindness Express" mail delivery.
The Kindness Express is a creative, student-driven initiative designed to spread kindness throughout our school and district. Inspired by the joy and anticipation of holiday Santa mailboxes, our students had the idea to repurpose these perfectly sized indoor mailboxes into year-round “Kindness Express” stations. These mailboxes will serve as hubs for handwritten letters, drawings, and notes of encouragement—small yet powerful expressions of kindness.
What makes the Kindness Express special is that it was imagined entirely by students who recognized the need for more connection, positivity, and encouragement among their peers and teachers.
In a world that often feels fast-paced and disconnected, our students want to slow things down and take time to show they care—through simple, heartfelt messages. They believe that words and pictures can brighten someone’s day and remind them they are valued and seen.
To bring this project to life, students will decorate the Santa-style mailboxes with paint, stickers, and colorful signage, transforming them into inviting, cheerful drop-off stations. These mailboxes will be placed in key areas throughout the school, where students can stop by to write or drop off their kind messages. We will also provide each classroom with start-up stationery, including notecards, paper, markers, and fun stickers, so that students can participate during downtime, morning work, or designated “kindness moments” during the week.
The Kindness Express is more than just a project—it’s a movement created by students, for students, to build a culture of compassion and connection. By funding this initiative, you are helping students take ownership of their school climate, build empathy, and use their creativity to uplift one another. We are excited to watch this project grow, letter by letter, as our students deliver kindness throughout the school and beyond.
