Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is full of bright minds and even bigger hearts. This year, we’re inspired by TIME for Kids’ Service Stars missions to launch a student-led service project that centers on small acts of kindness can spark lasting change.

With your support, we want to create a “Kindness Counts” campaign where students will take the lead in making our school and community a more compassionate place.

Through thoughtful acts—from writing thank-you notes to creating handmade tokens for classmates, to organizing a “Kindness Spirit Week”—students will spread joy in meaningful ways.

Your donation will provide the supplies we need to bring our mission to life: colorful paper, markers, motivational cards, stickers, books on kindness, and materials to craft small gifts. The toys, fidgets, and whiteboard spray are important tools that help students lead and sustain our “Kindness Counts” campaign. Students will use the toys and fidgets to create “Kindness Kits” to give to classmates who may be feeling anxious, sad, or overwhelmed, helping spread comfort and encouragement throughout the school community. The whiteboard spray will help students maintain our Kindness Bingo boards and Kindness Spirit Week displays in shared school spaces, allowing them to track and celebrate acts of service and motivate schoolwide participation. These resources will empower students to organize, promote, and lead a culture of kindness across our school, helping them make a meaningful impact as young leaders.

This project is about how students feel. Taking the lead in planning and carrying out these acts of service will empower them to recognize their ability to make a difference. It builds leadership, empathy, collaboration, and pride in their role as community members.

With your help, we’ll show our students that even the smallest gestures, like a smile or a note, can echo far beyond the classroom walls.
