This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My 3rd-grade classroom is a melting pot of experiences, emotions, opinions (oh the opinions!), and enthusiasm! We are a classroom filled with anticipation for learning, excitement for being our best and doing our best, and dedication to our learning! We are a classroom of students learning every day to make the right decisions in order to put their education first! We take no moment for granted by honoring our school through our commitment to being responsible, respectful, and safe at all times.
My Project
Managing classroom behavior and morale can be a challenge in any classroom! In my title one classroom, my students bring in many past experiences and different coping mechanisms or lack of coping skills. Our school is based on the principle of being Responsible, Respectable, and Safe. So in turn, this shows itself as KINDNESS in our classroom. With Kindness Cash, students came up with ways they can effectively show kindness during learning, and when this is displayed, they are rewarded with Kindness Cash! The KCash can then be redeemed for prizes that the students chose. I set a price tag for each item, and each Friday, they can purchase their treat or treasure! The kids chose their favorite snacks: Takis, Goldfish, chips, and candy bags! They chose treasures like goodie bags, slime kits, and even extra time with me!
