My Students

Many of us cannot even remember the days before computers in our current job positions. Technology is the reality of today's world and I want to expose my students to as many resources as possible. The Kindle Fire will allow my students to access books, magazines and educational applications.

I have students from a variety of socioeconomic status.

The students come to me with diverse experiences in technology, but all are seeking to learn more regardless of little to high access at home. We are from a growing University town in rural Missouri. I typically have 25 students in the fourth grade with many who need one on one support. The Kindle Fire will allow me the advantage of giving them books and magazines instantly at their interest and reading level.

My Project

Go, Go, Go is the theme of today's society. I want to make sure my students are able to keep up with the fast pace world of technology. The Kindle Fire will help me overcome these obstacles by putting the latest technology in their hands. Our class would be able to access the latest books and magazines instantaneously to inspire a reader's imagination. Students will feel competent in today's world about using technology and be better prepared in our world today. One of the features that sold me on the Kindle Fire is the audible version of books for students who are struggling in reading. Every student needs the chance to hear a fluent reader in order to improve his/her own reading skills. The immersion reading feature will allow my students the chance to work on fluency daily with the Kindle Fire. The excitement towards reading is the first step to help any child when it comes to being a reader. Please help us today by inspiring my class with a Kindle Fire!

The audible reading feature will allow me to expose struggling readers to a fluent model. The educational aps will give my students additional practice in both reading and math skills. Help lead us to the technology path in fourth grade by lighting our "Kindle" fire!!!
