My students need tablets for their small group settings. With these tablets, the children can have a group time where they can work on multiple skills in language, literacy and math.
I haven't officially met this year's group of kids, but I can assure you they will be awesome! In the kindergarten classroom, we are very, very busy! No more naps, 2 hours of uninterrupted instruction in language and 1 uninterrupted hour in math; throw in some handwriting, science and lunch and our day is almost done!
Kindergartners are little sponges and I am trying my very best to pour as much in them this year as I can.
I want them to have all the materials they need to succeed!
My Project
These kindle tablets with be a huge resource for our children. I know the children will be thrilled to have these to use in our small group settings. We have 90 minutes of small groups, and each child will be able to use their own kindle for 20 minutes of the group time. During this time, they will work on phonemic awareness games, letter recognition, rhyming games as well as many other literacy and language resources. They will also have a time later in the day to use the kindles in small math group settings, and there they can focus on number recognition, addition and subtraction, all while using cooperation skills!
