My students need Kindles to allow EVERY student in the class accessibility to conduct research, take AR tests, and use for educational websites.

My Students

My students enter 3rd grade and we hit the road running! The rigor increases and the expectations are high but they excel to the fullest and I LOVE watching them grow. We truly instill a "Work Hard, Play Hard" where students commit to working hard and are rewarded positively in so many fun ways throughout the school year.

In this day and age where technology is at a forefront students accessibility to technology for education is so important.

One big change in 3rd grade is that it marks the first year of SOL (Standards of Learning) State Mandated Testing in Reading and Math. Along with these tests come pre/mid/post tests, using online tools, to keep data on student's growth throughout the year . In addition, to these tests students use technology throughout the year to practice skills using various educational websites.

My Project

Fulfilling this project would make huge changes in my classroom! It would allow our classroom to increase its technology from currently 10 (5 laptops, 5 kindles) to 24. This would basically allow for one to one technology in the classroom giving each student an opportunity to have access to technology at anytime.

The Kindles will be used for research projects, AR reading tests, educational programs to practice skills learned, and so much more.

Also adding the covers will keep the kindles in great shape and provide use for many years to come.

The hope for this project would be to not only expand what we currently have in terms of tools but also expand new ways of learning/teaching allowing the class to all be connected at the same time.
