My students need 5 Kindle Fires to enhance their reading experiences in class. As a public school teacher, I cannot afford 5 copies of each book we read.
This project expired on September 27, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My Kindergarten classroom is a "print rich" environment. Unfortunately, most of our books are deteriorating right in front of our eyes! We are asking for six Kindle Fires to reignite our students' desire to learn to read. I have found the motivation to learn to read is the number one factor which leads to the student's success.
My students are typical 4, 5 and 6 year olds' that attend a public school in California.
They are interested in reading, but not all are properly motivated to learn. I believe the Kindle Fires will spark that motivation! My students are among the youngest kindergartners in the country as our cut off age in California is much later than other states.
Students will be able to explore both apps and read books on the Kindle Fire. There are many great early reading apps for them to explore. I also like the fact that the Kindle Fire provides me with timers so I can track how much time each student spends using the tablet.
Please help make a difference in the wonderful lives of my kindergarten students!
These six Kindle Fires will really motivate my students to read. Instead of grabbing dingy, crumbling books from our very limited library, they will be running to jump on the Kindle Fires!
