My Students
I teach a class of excited and eager to learn kindergartners in a urban community. Our school receives free breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily. My students love learning new and exciting things, however, we do not have the resources to help us soar. They have limited supplies both in the classroom and at home and are struggling to keep up with other members of our society. Please help my students not fall behind and help them out. My kinders are our future!
My Project
Many studies provide evidence that students may not be maximizing their achievement growth, unless a sensory activity is included throughout their learning. Movement improves concentration in ALL students, especially those with sensory processing issues. These wobble chairs and balance balls will provide flexible seating options to accommodate students with sensory needs. Flexible seating promotes physical comfort and focus. Having wobble chairs and balance balls will allow my students to have choice and ownership over where they want to sit while completing their work. It will help them stay engaged and focused as they are learning. Flexible seating will also allow my students to get their kindergarten wiggles out while moving and grooving with different seating options.
