Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a small (only 8 teachers) Title I school where 99% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students come from a low socioeconomic Latino neighborhood. Parents have to work long hours to provide for their families.
My students need a hands-on activities that will engage them.
My Project
Having nice things always makes a student feel appreciated. Being able to play with games that are reusable and nice will keep their engagement.
Laminating the games that my students will be using throughout the year will ensure that they can be used over and over again.
It will also help with disinfecting the materials in order for students to share the games. Disinfecting wipes can be used to clean the games. If they are not laminated, then they have to be thrown away. That will not be good, especially when I am teaching my students to recycle and take care of the Earth.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
