Kindergartners Need A Bright, Clean Space To Learn
My students need a bright, clean and engaging place to learn! This carpet would enrich my students' Kindergarten experience!
In Kindergarten we spend lots of time learning on our carpet. We read, listen to stories, share show and tell items, graph, estimate, do calendar activities - basically we experience Kindergarten on our classroom carpet!
I have a classroom full of sweet and curious Kindergartners!
They love to stretch out on the carpet and enjoy a book, explore or play an educational game. We are in a wonderful school full of dedicated teachers and parents, yet like many schools, the budget is changing and the money is not there to replace our well worn carpet.
This carpet will work well in my classroom because my students sit on colored carpet squares to hear a story, pass around a show and tell item, share writing, and participate in calendar activities. If I had this carpet in my room, I could also direct children where to sit by calling out one of the letters around the border, or by calling out a letter sound and the child will find the corresponding letter. The students will learn letter names and sounds while finding a place to sit on the carpet.
Although we do a lot of activities on our existing carpet, I feel like we could do even more with a brand new rug.
Our current carpet is showing wear and tear, and although it has been cleaned, it doesn't look clean, which makes me hesitate to do some activities there. I also think a bright and clean carpet will help my students to take pride in their classroom, and learn to keep other areas of the classroom organized and tidy, as well.
