My Students

In our Kindergarten classroom, we like to keep things exciting. There are a lot of important skills that my kindergartners need to master before they are ready for 1st grade.

I consider myself lucky to work with such an amazing group of students.

Most of my students come from low-income households, single-parent homes, unstable environments, etc. Despite their personal struggles, they come to school excited to learn. They love working with each other and learning new things! They love technology.

My Project

There are multiple uses for these resources (the Kindle Fires and protective cases) for my students. They are able to use apps such as ABC Mouse and Starfall to help enhance their knowledge in both mathematics and literacy. They are able to practice number recognition, addition and subtraction. My students will be able to practice letter recognition, blending letter sounds to make words, and sight word recognition. A lot of these skills require a lot of repetition, and the tablets help with that, as well as make it fun for the kids.

Your donation to this project will help improve my classroom in many ways.

I will be able to have more students at the tablet station at one time. The students truly do love using the tablets and they are a great way to help them practice and master important skills that they need for 1st grade.
