My Students

I teach a dynamic group of fabulous kindergarten students in an​ extremely diverse school in New York. My students love reading funny stories, poetry, creating art, and learning new facts.

My class absolutely loves our beloved puppet, Chef.

He cooks up sight words, poems, vocabulary words, and books each day in his magic pot. My students are funny, enthusiastic, inquisitive, compassionate, and sweet.

My Project

I want my students to be as successful as possible! Many of my students are struggling with recognizing larger numbers and knowing what number comes next. My students need more practice with rote counting. I would love to have a set of hundreds charts that we can use in class and I would love to send a set home for my students to use at home. I want to try out a set of sound boxes to use with a small group of students. This will help students isolate the sounds in words and will help them become stronger readers and writers. I need a professional development book to help me teach sight words more effectively! The green legal paper and frogs will be used for a sight word lily pad game. Your donation will strengthen my students' literacy and mathematical skills!
