My students live in a rural community of about 2,000 residents. They may not realize it, yet, but they are growing and learning in a very supportive and tight-knit community that cares about each of them.
In my classroom, I have 18 kindergartners of varying social, emotional, and academic needs.
They are creative, clever, and spontaneous! They have so much excitement for school and learning; it makes my job so enjoyable! My students are unique individuals with unlimited potential. It is my job to ignite their excitement for learning so they can reach their full potential!
My Project
Play is the vehicle that develops so many important skills in young learners. These skills include; creativity, language, problem-solving skills, social skills, and motor skills. My students need a dollhouse, pretend play money, and a play tree house to develop these skills in the classroom during center time. The doll house will encourage development of social and emotional skills,The tree house building blocks will encourage creative thinking and problem solving. Students will use the pretend play money to play store and restaurant.
The play materials requested will encourage students to integrate all of these skills which is key to cognitive development.
In my classroom, I believe in developing the whole child. This means meeting my kids' needs both academically and socially. Incorporating purposeful play in the classroom allows me to accomplish this goal. Thank you for understanding the importance of play and supporting my students!
