This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of the items on my list will be used as sensory tools to help my students regulate their bodies and emotions. The sensory table and materials (rice, sand, playdough) will allow students to use manipulate and play with different materials. The different textures of the sand, sequins, rice, and playdough can allow students to ground themselves through physcial activity. The sensory table will provide one location to hold these materials and to keep them clean and organized. As a Title I teacher, I do not have a classroom budget to support my students' physical and emotional development. Any items that my students need is bought using my own money, and this is a practice that I can no longer financially sustain. Many of my students have unique needs, and require additional support while at school in order to be successful. Your donations will greatly impact the education and livelihoods of my students!
