My Students

I am a Kindergarten teacher at a Title 1 school on Richmond, California where 100 percent of our student population receives free school lunch. Most of my students are second language learners and are in crisis situations at home. I try to make our classroom a safe and happy place where my students can grow and learn emotionally and academically. I am committed to providing my students with the tools and experiences to be successful and eager life long learners.

My students are eager to learn and have a variety of abilities and skllls as well as emotional needs.

My Project

With the unknowns about how school will look in August, my students need supplies and tools at home for distance learning. Kindergarteners need hands on materials to stay engaged. Dice, play dough and watercolors will help students students stay engaged and mimic what they see me doing on calls making distance learning more interactive and less passive.

Crayons, scissors, pencils, and linking cubes for counting are tools of kindergarten that every student should have access to everyday.

These materials will be handed out one a specific day designated for students to pick up materials.
