My Students
Have you ever looked at a school supply list and felt overwhelmed? The students in my classroom need your help.
My students appreciate the small things, like stickers and smiles.
They do not come from a great deal of money and they really need your help. We are a Title One school, meaning that a large percentage of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our school is in a small town where everyone works together to try to help the students in the community. School supplies are a necessity for every student, however, my school is a Title One school and many families struggle to afford them. In order to have a successful school year I do the best I can to get donations from local companies in the area. For example, when studying materials I went to Home Depot to collect wood for bird houses. I want my students to have the best possible learning experiences in kindergarten because this academic year sets the tone for the rest of their life.
My Project
I have requested folders because each child in my classroom uses eight folders a year. The students use them for writing journals, handwriting notebooks, and Center Work folders. Also, I have requested construction paper. Kindergarten is a creative, fun time in a child's life where learning really sticks when connected with the Arts. Furthermore, I have requested a timer. We do morning and afternoon rotations where students work in small groups with the teacher and independently. Having a timer in the classroom would help students to manage their time and really benefit from all the learning there is surrounding them.
By helping us with this project you make a difference in a child's life.
Students can organize their writing into notebooks and create something they truly can be proud of. With the timer students will learn time management, a skill that will benefit them throughout their lives.
