Kindergarten Technology for Interactive Math Lessons

My students need an interactive whiteboard system to go with the Pearson Realize math program. My students need technology that works so I am including a warranty.

My Students

In my classroom we sing, dance, chant, and interact to learn in a way that lasts. With the Common Core State Standards increasing in math, we have a lot of important and big work to do. This interactive whiteboard set will help us soar to the next level!

My classroom is full of energetic five and six year-olds.

Our school is in an urban neighborhood with over 50% of the students attending come from families living under the poverty line. Our school and district are dedicated to preparing students for successful lives after high school. That preparation begins in kindergarten! We're also dedicated to providing students with developmentally appropriate, multisensory instruction. The integration of interactive technology into classroom curriculum plays a big role in engaging students and preparing them for our technology-focused world.

My Project

In my kindergarten classroom, the interactive whiteboard kit will be used to make math lessons (as well as reading and writing lessons) come alive. I will use a combination of my computer, projector, document camera, and interactive whiteboard kit to project interactive lessons. The students will be able to watch me teach lessons where I use digital math manipulatives to show 1 + 1 = 2, how to form numbers, pattern continuation, and beyond. The students will also get to take turns being the teacher and sharing their knowledge using these interactive tools.

This project will help my students learn math concepts more quickly and easily.

It will keep them engaged as they watch the magic of the interactive whiteboard at work. The interactive whiteboard kit will streamline technologically based lessons by eliminating lag time and increasing productivity. With this kit my students will be on their way to becoming more proficient mathematicians.
