My Students

Every morning, we greet our students and help them unpack and adjust to their day. We sing songs, we teach social skills, and help them get ready for their day and their futures!

Our school is very diverse!

We speak over 14 languages at home. We come from a variety of homes, including low income and subsidized housing. Some students come with food in their bellies and lunch boxes, while others do not. We have almost 1000 students who share 30 iPads across all grade levels. Last year we got to use just a few a few times! I want our students to have a myriad of 21st century skills including collaboration, technical understanding, and creativity. By getting some for our own classroom, we can ensure that students have a great technology foundation to help in all subject areas!

My Project

My students need access tablets! Along with the tablets, as we are little learners, we need tablet cases, headphones, and screen protectors. Each year, I have done a kindergarten research project. Students (with help) read and create their own books to share their knowledge. With tablets, they would be able to film each other, giving all students a public speaking knowledge as well as technical experience. I also would like for students to be able to document our science experiments! This would allow students to document each step in the scientific process, which is important for little learners to be able to see concrete examples of each step.

I want our children to be charged with the excitement of learning!

by giving them technology skills at an early age, we are ensuring that our students are ready for anything the future can throw at them! We are preparing students to enter jobs that may not exist yet!
