I have seventeen, wonderful students who love to sing, dance and learn daily. They have funny personalities that keep me laughing all day. My school is a low income-based school that provides exemplary education.
We have many students who leave the school, and even more students who enroll throughout the school year.
That is one of our biggest challenges as teachers. We also were a school that was affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Many of my students lost everything and don’t have what they need for school. We were not able to start school due to the damage; the school had water and mold, so we were displaced for almost a month.
The students are living in hotels and are still in need. I want to provide a fun, safe, learning environment for my students with new innovative, learning materials. I want my students to enjoy their classroom after being through that devastating event.
My students are in their very first steps of reading. We practice every day to get their reading skills on level. We have many reading programs that we use in the classroom that assist with learning to read. I want my students to all have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet so we can all work together during circle time. Technology is a fun interactive and innovative way to learn. My students will enjoy and be fully engaged when we are reading our passages. I am sure this will help boost reading levels, as this will be exciting for them to each have their own technology as their book.
