Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of 33 five and six year olds who are always ready to learn. Despite, living in a high-crime, and low income area, they enjoy coming to school everyday. Our school goes above and beyond to try and provide students a place where they can feel safe and ready to learn but our limited resources make it extremely difficult to reach every student. My students have been exposed to the wonderful world of books and are loving it. They need additional resources to continue their love of reading.
My Project
Learning to read, write and count is a tough job for kindergarten students. It demands a lot of hard work and dedication. Differentiation is essential to meet student needs. Differentiation is time consuming and can be daunting when there are limited resources. This kindergarten bundle provides resources for core subjects like math, reading and writing. It includes differentiation activities and lessons that address various learner needs. What is even better is that it was created by experienced teachers who have had the same struggles that most kindergarten teachers face. These resources would help my students be successful in kindergarten. Included in the bundle are lessons aligned to common core, math problems to create a math interactive notebook. As a result of implementing these lessons, students will be more engaged. In addition, I will have more resources to plan small group and tier my instruction.
