My Students

I teach a dynamic group of fabulous kindergarten students in an​ extremely diverse school in New York. My students love reading funny stories, writing, poetry, creating art, exploring in science, learning new words, building, dancing, singing, playing math games, playing with puppets, and learning new facts. We are obsessed with our composting worm bin!

My class absolutely loves our beloved puppet, Chef Lotsa Words.

He cooks up sight words, poems, vocabulary words, and books each day in his "magic" pot. My students are funny, enthusiastic, inquisitive, compassionate, and sweet.

My Project

My kindergarten students love puppets! We are studying puppets. We are learning about famous puppets and having fun creating shadow puppet plays. My students would love to learn more about how puppets are made and how puppets are operated. We would love to learn more about puppets from Eric Wright of Puppet Kitchen! Eric will bring in a variety of puppets, talk about how they are made and show us how they are manipulated. We will also get a chance to ask him questions about what it is like being a puppeteer!
