This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It's great that we get P.E. time and even an extra 15 minutes of play time in our kinder yard. But when we go outside there are only about 5 tricycles, 2 balls and, if we're lucky, maybe someone has left a hoola hoop or two. About half of my class is limited in activities they can do.

My students are fun and energetic five and six year olds.

Most are experiencing going to school for the very first time. They get excited when the opportunity to do or use something "new" comes along. My students attend school in South Los Angeles, they are considered to be economically challenged and receive free lunch.

My Project

Please help us get moving! My students need materials that will motivate them to get up and move. Active play materials will help my students develop skills such as throwing, jumping, balancing, flexibility and coordination. The parachute will encourage noncompetitive and cooperative play and the wrist ribbons will have them moving, dancing, waving and clapping.

Many children today are not as active as they should be, preferring to sit and watch TV or play video games.

This project will inspire my students to be active in a way that is so much fun they won't even know how hard they're working. Your donation will promote a healthy, physical lifestyle!
