Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every child loves story time. My students want to listen and read along their favorite stories on tape/CD.

The majority of my students is English learners with different cultural and linguistic background.

By being in a dual language class, they are open to multicultural education and they dream to be global leaders in the future. A lot of families at my school have low income and they receive reduced/free lunch.

My Project

A listening center will enable my students to listen and read stories independently. Independent center activities such as listening center not only engage students in reading but also it allows the teacher to work with other students in a small group to assist them with their academic needs.

I believe that by reading along with leveled pictures books repeatedly on CD, students can reinforce vocabulary, improve reading fluency, and develop reading comprehension that can lead them to succeed in reading.
