Kindergarten Reaches Literacy Goals With Osmo

Help me give my students these Osmo Genius Kits for their learning centers which will help promote hands-on learning for mathematics and language arts using technology.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school that is highly impacted by poverty and very low academics. In my classroom I have students that are English language learners and have not been exposed to much in the areas of technology, mathematics and phonemic awareness. I also have several students that are below grade level learners that require kinesthetic activities to help them acquire the knowledge they need to move to the next grade level.

I also have students that live in a shelter and have experienced homelessness and familial trauma.

The resources I hope to bring into my classroom will help not just my English language learners and below level learners, but my entire class to become proficient in mathematics and phonemic awareness through the use fo technology.

Due to my student low socioeconomic status many of my students families do not have the resources to purchase any form of technology to aide in their learning of basic skills or acquire 21st century skills. These materials will help my kindergarten students attain the skills they need to be successful in school and beyond.

My Project

It is my desire that my students learn using the most updated hands-on materials available to them. The Osmo Genius Kits will help me in achieving this goal. The Osmo Genius Kits will also give my students a fun, hands-on learning experience that will help them achieve their yearly learning goals through interactive programs.

This project will include 6 Osmo Genius Kits for all my students to use with their Fire tablets as a center during our daily math and reading rotations.

This gives my students access to the Osmo learning program on a daily basis.

The Osmo Genius Kits will be a great addition to my classroom, as they will keep my students engaged in their learning as they build their skills and work toward their learning goals. Students that struggle academically will be able to use the hands-on activities the Osmo Genius Kit provides with less intimidation than a typical text book. The Osmo Genius Kits will also bring excitement to the curriculum and ignite the students desire to learn.
