My Students
My students are starting kindergarten in a year that is unlike any other. They are walking in without mom or dad. They are not free to move about the room, and they are required to each have their own individual supplies.
They come from situations that are not always the best, but they overcome so many obstacles placed in their path.
As their teacher, I want to be able to give them every resource they need to be the successful learners I know they can be.
My Project
We have been in person since August. Sadly, Covid restrictions keep my students in their designated spot instead of moving about my room freely. These different seating options, like floor seats, wobble chairs, and balance balls, will give them the ability to sit in different types of chairs and in different areas for the day, rather than being confined to the same chair every day. A small change in seating can boost engagement in the lesson much more. I know these new options will be so exciting for my kindergarten friends and will be so beneficial to our learning!
