I have the privilege of teaching Kindergarten in a rural East Texas town.

Most of my students come from low income families. Some of my students are learning English as a second language. All of my students need to feel safe and loved, and it is my desire to give them all a great first experience in school. It doesn't matter where they have come from. All that really matters is where they are going. I hope to give every student the tools they need to reach their full potential!

My Project

I would really like some art supplies for my students. I specifically would like these play-doh mats that model how to make letters and numbers. The students will use the play-doh resources to make uppercase and lowercase letters out of play-doh as well as numbers too. This will help reinforce the concepts that we are learning in a hands on way that will help the kinesthetic learners in the classroom. In addition, I have requested paints, paint brushes, paint cups and a caddy. The paint supplies will allow the children an opportunity to creatively express themselves in art center. I also have requested crayons and a crayon caddy to make crayons easily accessible to all students to be used in the both the art center and writing center.

This project will help students to be creative and have fun learning new concepts.

It will give the children opportunities to learn concepts in a hand on and fun way. It will also allow students to express themselves through painting and drawing. The children are so proud of their art work. This project will help to build the students self confidence as they create art and share it with the class and their families.
