Help me give my students math and literacy at their fingertips with all of these amazing manipulatives. Also, and very importantly, access to all the practice sheets they could possibly need by having their own color printer.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Kindergarten students are mostly English Language Learners from a low-income neighborhood. They are learning in both English and Spanish and would really benefit from these hands-on manipulatives that break down the barriers of language. My students have a passion for math and literacy; they work so hard to form CVC words and to count numbers to 20.
Having a printer in the classroom would make it so much easier to print practice sheets for both math and reading for students to complete while I work with a small group.
They are learning how to add to make numbers up to 20 and they are learning to read and write CVC words; these manipulatives would not only help facilitate that but would also reel them in because of their colorful and fun looks. The CVC centers are essential in helping students read and write simple, three-letter words. These manipulatives would work as amazing centers during my literacy and math center times.
