My Project

Kindergarten sets the stage for the many years of education ahead. It is foundational not only in a child's learning, but also in their attitude about school. One of my greatest goals in kindergarten is to create a warm and welcoming environment for my students. These sweet children come with a wide range of needs and backgrounds, and we create our own little class family! This is done through a variety of different ways, including reading, writing, social interaction, science, art, and technology.

We experience kindergarten magic when the students are eagerly engaged in learning.

The resources this project would provide my students with would greatly benefit them through the school year. The iPad stylus would help me as I dive into our new Wit and Wisdom curriculum and teach it to my students. The safari hats and vests would be a way to excite my students in our first unit, Wild about Reading. The wireless doorbell would be used as an attention getter as my students are busily working with their friends. The buttons will be used for art projects and math manipulatives. The lemonade stand and playset will be used for an authentic writing and math experience for my students. They will write, add, and create with this fun learning center, as well as use it for brain break time and indoor recess. The crayons are important for students to see a myriad of skin tones and be able to represent them in their work. The ceiling clips will display their work and make them proud. The desk organizer is needed for my classroom aide. The owl book will be used for teaching reading and science.
