I teach in a Title I school. The majority of students at my school get free or reduced-price lunch. Many of my students come to kindergarten without preschool experience. Therefore, we start at the beginning, teaching basic letter identification, and by the end of kindergarten they are reading!
My students have hard lives outside of school, but the minute they step into my classroom they know that they are loved.
They know they are there to learn and become the successful individuals that they can be.
My Project
We are requesting materials that will help us learn all about the fascinating world of bugs! It's no secret that kids are interested in bugs. That makes it the most fun way to teach about life cycles in the spring!
There's no better way to learn the life cycle of an insect, than by watching it happen in front of your eyes.
The butterfly and ladybug kits we are requesting will help us do just that. We are also requesting science kit that will allow my students to look up close at an assortment of REAL bugs to make observations just like scientists do. Finally, we are requesting a set of science file folder games to help us include more science throughout our day. These are great for students to do as they finish work early to maximize our daily science instruction.
