Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students will be entering kindergarten excited to learn and make friends. Most students were not in preschool and kindergarten will be their first school experiences.

My students will benefit from a library that can have easy access to our books during independent reading and centers.

The bookshelves will replace out books that are house in crates right now and books are not in categories due to the limitations crates create. By having the books in books bins that are different colors and in easy to access bookshelves, students will be able to trade their books when are done reading the books during independent reading without interrupting adults for support or even peers. It will eliminate student spending a great amount of time going through the different crates to find the book that sparks interests.

The top of the bookshelves will allow to display the books read aloud to the class or books related to our Science or Social Studies units so they can also be easy to see and grab throughout the day.

The bookshelves will make a difference in students able to find the books they want to read and increase their engagement, independency and love for reading! This project will benefit this class with an entire new library that will be enjoyed and used on a daily bases for my current and future kindergarteners.
