Kindergarten Kids Need Hands-on Experiences

Help me give my students a library cart, book bins, and other items for a classroom that allows for movement activities and hands-on learning activities!

My Students

The students in my classroom are a diverse group of students who learn through research and exploration. They use every space within the room as a learning canvas.

My students are curious, eager, and dedicated learners who are ready to inquire and explore the world around them.

They will use literacy skills to learn about themselves and others while building connections. We use a reading and writing workshop model along with the IB PYP curriculum to continue to learn and express our understandings about the world around us.

My Project

This project will allow the students to have a classroom that is organized which will allow them to move independently throughout the classroom. The materials in this project allow students to find supplies for hands-on learning experiences and move through learning experiences with confidence and independence. This project includes books, math tools, and book shelving to help the students navigate independently in the classroom. The math supplies will help the students build strong place value and number sense. The books included in this project will be used for our literacy and SEL lessons. The book cart will help organize our leveled readers so students are able to choose 'just right' books to read during our independent reading time!

Kindergarten students are smart and capable children that learn through hands-on activities and learning experiences.

I want to create a classroom environment that allows students to experience learning hands-on and play around with manipulatives in order to figure out and solidify their understanding of concepts. This project allows students to have a choice in their learning and investigate the concepts.
