This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a high-risk Title I school in an urban setting. We have 40% of our students living in temporary housing. Our school community is small but there is a real need to address equity with our technology so our scholars and community are participating in cohesive, engaging online learning.
As we prepare for the fall, we know from March to June all the issues that came along with remote teaching.
One to one devices failed and iPads made it hard for our students to submit their work and type. Families struggled to support the learning at home because some of the devices were so old or didn't work. We would like to purchase kindle devices for each student in Kindergarten so that they can have continued engaging instruction and practice when following the blended learning model.
My Project
This project was created to support the our youngest learners. When we went remote in March we gave away all of our technology to aid in online learning from home. As we approach opening school we will not have the devices to connect the students to myON and other apps to do in station learning and independent reading.
These devises will support our blended learning model and engage students in projects that are both online and in person.
These devises can also assist with guided reading and small group instruction throughout the day.
