This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

“Elmo thinks playing is important because it helps Elmo learn and grow.” – Elmo.

Every year, I’m on a mission to make learning as engaging and fun as it is rigorous.

And every year, thanks to generous donors like you, I’ve been able to create innovative classroom transformations that inspire and excite my students.

This year, I want to transform my classroom into Sesame Street.

I grew up watching Sesame Street and fell in love with its characters and the values they represented—kindness, curiosity, creativity, and inclusion. Now, I want to share that same love and joy with my students in a meaningful and educational way.

The donations we receive will help me put our students’ needs first by designing an exciting, hands-on learning experience filled with creativity, laughter, and discovery.

Throughout our Sesame Street-themed day, we’ll learn the letter and number of the day, count and subtract cookies with Cookie Monster and The Count, explore shapes and letters with Elmo and Big Bird, and write about how to help Oscar the Grouch turn his day around.

These are just a few of the ideas I’m developing—and there are many more to come! It’s unforgettable moments like these that remind me why I love being a teacher. After all, who wouldn’t want to spend the day learning on Sesame Street?
