Computers needed for the budding geniuses to man the genius bar. My students need 3 new Samsung laptop computers to help with daily activities in the classroom. These computers will be set up at a table for the students to act as "experts" on the activities we will be completing.

I work at a neighborhood school that is committed to education. They value learning and are interested in their children and their futures. Parents are not always able to provide the materials that they need to help their students. I am steadfast in making sure that my students get everything they need to succeed in the future.
My Project
I am requesting three Samsung laptop computers. Many of my students are economically disadvantaged and they lack electronic resources in their homes. The three computers that I am requesting will help to fill this void. They will give the "geniuses" the tools they need to compete in today's world.
I envision patterning this area of the classroom after the genius bars located in many computer retailer stores. My "geniuses" will use the computers to write "how to" and "fix it" guides for classroom activities. Students will use the computers to facilitate peer-to- peer tutoring. This area of the classroom will help students gain independence and cultivate leadership skills.
Computers are no longer a luxury, they are a necessity of learning.
For many of my students classroom-based computers represent their only opportunity for hands-on technology. These computers will allow for a unique self help area that fosters independence. This is an unprecedented opportunity to purchase high end Samsung laptop computers at a total cost of less than a single generic desktop computer.
