This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my class are excited to come to school to learn everyday. They are curious about science and eager to learn how to read. They are kind to others and respectful of our classroom materials. They will take great care of new classroom materials. Our school is 92% economically disadvantaged and 79% English Language Learners. My class is very diverse, including students from around the world, students receiving special education, gifted and talented students, and those learning English as a second language. My sweet students will be so excited for these new learning materials. Thank you in advance for impacting my students' educational journey.
My Project
My students are in need of an iPad to use during center time. iPads are user-friendly for kindergartners. The students will be able to use educational apps like Dreambox for math, BrainPop for science and other subjects, Reading A-Z, Starfall, and others. Dreambox is a very beneficial app for math because it is engaging and teaches students at their independent level, advancing them to more difficult concepts when they're ready.
1-2 students will be engaged on the iPad independently during center time, so I can teach other students in a small guided group.
Students will use the iPad during center time, where they rotate to each center with a partner. The iPad is much better than a laptop because kindergartners are experts with them, and they can use it without assistance.
