Kindergarten Classroom Rug

My Students

All 25 of my kindergarten students are kind, cooperative, and curious. They come to school each day eager to learn and play. I want to provide them with the best environment possible for them to achieve their academic potential. I want them to attend school each day and for them to have structure. Most of all, I want my students to be a part of a learning environment where they feel safe and valued, and loved!

My Project

A new classroom carpet will provide an area for students to gather in a safe space while adhering to COVID mitigation protocols. Nevada Academic Content Standards ask kindergarten students to "participate in collaborative conversation with diverse partners about kindergarten topics and texts with peer and adults in small and larger groups." (ELA K.SL.1)This new gathering area will provide an area for my students and an opportunity to meet this standard.

By providing my students this new classroom learning space, my class will now have an area to "actively engage in group reading activities with purpose and understanding." (ELA K.RI.10).
