My Project
In the last 10 years, young children have entered Kindergarten without enough practice using their hands for constructing, squeezing, and stretching which can make writing difficult. Using devices like tablets and phones has decreased the amount of time children previously had to strengthen muscles needed for pencil grip and scissor control.
My Kindergarten students need materials that will help them build fine-motor muscles while helping them explore topics like animals and medical careers.
They love building and creating and I want to provide them with experiences that will help them build knowledge while strengthening their hand muscles. The supplies I have requested will assist students in accomplishing these goals, while students are engaged in creative play. My students, like all Kindergarten age children, should have the supplies necessary for building muscles and making fun memories.
