This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Kindergarten students are wonderful and caring children with a bright educational future ahead of them. I want to provide my new students with the right start they need and deserve when they begin their educational careers. My goal is to make their first school experience a tremendous one.

Our students are motivated to learn, play, and achieve success!

Our school has made tremendous gains over the past 12 years, moving from one of the lowest-performing schools in the area to achieving the honor of being named a Distinguished School! We are an example of a community of students, teachers, parents, and staff, all working together for academic achievement. Our hope is that many of our students will be the first generation in their family to go to college!

My Project

I would love for my students to have individual writing journal to collect their writing and illustrations throughout the year. These journals will show how much their writing and drawings have developed from the first day of school.

My students are going to love learning to write in their new writing journals.

In addition, the crayons will provide my students with more colors to choose from when they are illustrating their writing. Currently, my students only have a box of 8 crayons with basic colors. They often ask me for pink, light blue, gray, and white and we don't have those colors. They will be so excited to have a larger variety of colors to use daily.

Our kindergarten students begin learning to write by drawing and explaining their story. They can do this in their new journals. As they develop into writers, it will be so amazing to see how far they have come!
