My students need iPads for RTI interventions and cases for endurance, proper paper and paint for art that lasts.
My kindergarten kids are eager and ready to learn. They arrive with a smile on their face and the desire to start the day! My classroom is busy, we love to draw, color, read and count. We work in centers and kids are constantly being challenged to expand and think outside the box.
My kids are our future.
They want to do their best and I am trying to give them the necessary tools to achieve greatness! I teach kindergarten and the kids are to learn their letters, sounds and numbers as well as the basics of reading and addition. Our school day leaves little for art / technology but I have allotted times for it to encourage art exploration as well as RTI interventions. Our school is in the center of a small farming town and the kids come from various backgrounds. We want the best for our kids and I strive to make it happen!
I am requesting two iPads. This is for not only art exploration (apps for design/artists/colors) they can learn drawing, picture taking and movie making on it as well as using it for RTI interventions. This will allow kids who need additional aid to be able to play learning games to enhance the understanding of letters, sounds, etc. Creativity is a must! Kids have to have an outlet and a way to express themselves. I have asked for paper that is for the watercolors and acrylic paints (ours currently tear with little effort and a child's masterpiece gets torn and tears well up!) I have also asked for paint and a drying rack. The worse thing that can happen after so much effort is to have no where safe to put their work until dry! They will learn about the masters, the techniques, colors warm and cool, they will learn blending and more!
My classroom will be able to accommodate the needs of my kinders with the right materials.
I make do and teach them to be careful… but what a difference when you have what you need to do the right job! This goes for art to technology. It is hard to have kids learn how to use a mouse when, honestly… few people need that anymore. We are an age of touch screens and instant knowledge. Why not enhance and enable this at kindergarten? I want my kids to be ahead and not behind the rest of society.Read More
