My Project

Our kindergarten students have been loving the start of kindergarten! We have a few math supplies on our list that would benefit our learning and some classroom basics that need to be restocked. Additionally, as winter approaches, we are going to be having indoor recess more and more due to the weather, and we would like some art supplies to make winter more fun!

To keep students engaged on days that we cannot go outside, we are hoping to include more art projects in our lessons!

We are requesting some art supply basics such as construction paper, washable paint, and paint palettes to get us started. We will use the paintbrushes when we are not painting with our fingers. The Play-Doh and Play-Doh tools are another way for students to get their hands active and building their fine motor strength and coordination. We use Play-Doh during math, literacy, and during indoor recess!

We also need a few basic items for our classroom, such as different pencil grips to help students adjust their writing grasp to the correct grip. The sheet protectors and laminating sheets help our materials last for years and work with dry erase markers, so we can save paper by using the materials repeatedly. For math, our supply of unifix cubes and counting bears has dwindled over the years and we would like new sets to augment our current bins. We use cubes to make math hands-on as we practice counting and learn addition and subtraction and comparing quantities. We use counting bears to practice sorting and counting.

These supplies will be a wonderful addition to our classroom and our students will enjoy the arts and learning they get to experience with them!
