Kindergartem Kids Do Care About Math And Science!

My students need an Early Math Manipulative Library, a science center, and a numbers bean bag toss to learn math standards in an active and engaging way.

My Students

Kindergarten students have a lot of standards to learn each day. It's more than just milk and cookies these days. My young students love to learn and will learn. It is my job to motivate and engage these learners in exciting ways. Help motivate Kindergarten kids through math and science!

My students are at both a Title I school in California as well as a Distinguished School of California.

Our school has a diverse community with different cultures and languages represented. Many students are learning English as a second language. Many students also qualify for free and reduced lunch. My Kindergarten students are breaking through barriers every day. They love to learn and it shows. They work very hard to learn standard based instruction. Families try to support their child's learning as much as possible. There are homework helper nights, math nights and reading nights that help involve the family in the school community. At our school we are trying to create a life long learner. Although I am the teacher, I always remind the parents that they are their child's first teacher. We are trying to find ways to extend the learning day to prepare our students for First grade. I am looking forward to seeing the academic and social growth in my students this year.

My Project

The hands on math and science supplies will make learning fun. These resources will engage all learners and provide students with new experiences. Math and science text books are not enough. These additional learning materials will help the students understanding of key math and science standards.

My students deserve the school supplies that they need to learn.

In a low-income area children often have to go without. They have to make due with what supplies are available. My students need more and deserve more. These extra supplies will help reach all the learners. These supplies will help engage and motivate higher thinking skills. Kindergarten students can learn at high levels when their are high expectations. You can make a difference by helping this class today!
