Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach kindergarten in a Chicago Public School with a poverty level of 88%; most of which are minority students. I have a total of 60 students between my morning and afternoon classes! I like to create an inviting atmosphere for all my students. They come to school eager to learn and making their learning experience more comfortable is one way of encouraging their success!!! My students need to sit while I do Read-Alouds for them. They must sit on hardwood flooring. After a while, this becomes very uncomfortable for them! They become restless and their attention span is affected. A, "First Words Activity Carpet" would be a welcomed comfort as they sit and appreciate Read-Aloud time. My students will also use this carpet to benefit from the learning of sight words (imprinted on it). They will be able to read their first words in such a fun way through various activities created by me. So please help us in our endeavors as my children continue their learning and progress to the next level. You can help them remember the good times as their minds blossomed in this positive environment. Your donation and generosity will always be remembered and will make a huge difference in my students' lives!!!
