My kindergarteners will begin their learning adventure on the outskirts of a large, urban district. Our school is a Title 1 school with approximately 850 students in grades PreK-5. The student body is a diverse group of learners, representing over 38 nations. We have 65 percent minority students and a 50 percent Free and Reduced Lunch population. Within this diversity is strength and determination, as our school continues to close the achievement gap while growing confident and successful learners.

These little scholars are at an age when everything is still new and exciting and their quest to know "how?" and "why?" makes each day a joy to experience. I strive to provide them with experiences that will not only ignite a passion to wonder and question, but will also give them the skills to find the answers they seek.
My Project
My kinders will grow up to live and work in a technological world that we can barely imagine now. In order to succeed and thrive, they need the ability to face problems and road bumps with creativity, ingenuity, and flexible thinking. This STEM bundle kit will help step up our science program to enable my learners to experience a variety of challenges that will expand their thinking to be open to many possible solutions.
Thinking outside the box, while developing the perseverance to see a task from problem to solution, is a lifelong skill that transcends subject and grade level.
