This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Kindergarten is a very exciting year! My students love school and love to learn! Technology is a key part of education but one of the last areas to be funded in kindergarten. I would like to get two iPads for my classroom so my students get the opportunity to succeed in today's technological world.
I have 26 enthusiastic and energetic kindergarten students.
Our school provides free breakfast and lunch to all of our students. Our school is a Title I school. My students are highly motivated to learn no matter what challenges they may have at home or in the community. I have very supportive families that want the best for their children. My students have limited/no access to technology at home so I hope to bring it into my classroom. That way all my students will have access to today's technology.
My Project
My students love technology but unfortunately we only get to go to the computer lab once a week for 30 minutes. Due to state testing being done in our computer lab my class is only able to go part of the year.
The two iPads that I am requesting will give my students an opportunity to explore technology on a daily basis. The Common Core State Standards involve thinking at a higher level and problem solving. With the iPads my students will be able to solve puzzles, review skills, and learn at their own level while having fun. The different applications written for this age group include immediate feedback that motivates them by either correcting their mistakes or moving on to new challenges. Voice recording capabilities will let them record themselves reading and playing it back. They can take pictures and learn to edit them. I want them to feel comfortable using technology, build their self-confidence and get them ready for our technological world.
The iPads will improve my classroom because it will allow my students to enjoy learning and will challenge each learner individually.
It will help each student reach their full potential and to become comfortable with the latest technology. The two iPads will give my students more opportunities to use them during the school day. This year is my 25th year teaching! It has been a great year so far! Please support my project! You will make 26 kindergartners very happy! Thank you!
