My Students
African American, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, Caucasian... The wonderful melting pot of my kindergarten class. My students are energetic, funny, inquisitive, and strong. They are so excited!
Our school includes low-income students, with 100% of them receiving free lunch.
They come from homes with wonderful parental involvement but minimal resources.
My students are very eager to learn new things. I want to be able to afford them different opportunities to learn many new things by using different materials and different avenues.
My Project
My kids are surrounded by technology at school. But many of them are not afforded the privilege of having technology at home. Many of my students do not have computers or tablets at home. Having the tablets with protective cases in the classroom will help them to get familiar with this type of technology. This will help them in the future when they began using computers in upper grades. Although tablets are not the same a computers, they are very similar in many ways. The tablets will also be another way for the students to learn. They will not only learn in the traditional sense, using pencil and paper, but also by using the educational apps provided on the tablets as they relate to the content in our class.
