My Students

This upcoming school year, I will be teaching kindergarten at Edgewater Public. Last year, being my first year teaching at a Title One school, I did not have many resources that the students needed to help them, compared to other schools. However, through these challenges and investing my own personal money, we had a great year until the pandemic. Distance learning was a big change for my kids, especially with limited resources and technology. Individual math kits will allow the students to have their own set of materials. Due to Covid, there will be many restrictions in the classroom and students having their own materials will be a big help.

My Project

Math tool kits will allow my students to have the resources to help solve math problems hands-on! Having materials in front of a child will help engage them in the material they are learning. The Math tool kits include counters, ten frames, 100s chart, number lines, and shapes. Math centers are a huge part of my everyday instruction. Last year, I used community math tools for the students to use. This year, with the restrictions going into place, I believe Individual kits will be the best option. Please help my students receive math tool kits to avoid cross-contamination.
