This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I teach come from very low-income homes. Most of the students are being raised by older siblings. The school provides the children with two meals and a snack daily. In addition, the food bank delivers food to the school on Tuesdays for the needed families. My kindergarten students do not understand their living situation; however, they are full of energy and excitement. Most of the students want to learn.
I spend extra time on the weekends to help assist my students that are struggling with kindergarten skills.
If students are willing to go the extra mile to learn, I am willing to go the extra mile to teach them. With, the parent, teacher and student all on the same page, the students can be great achievers.
My Project
My student need to be engaged at all times during the school day. These materials will help them to stay engaged and make learning fun. The materials will reinforce the kindergarten skills being taught through out the school year.
The students will have better understanding of how to form sentences with the sentence building cubes.
Students will excel with counting past 20 with the counting game. Students will have a better understanding of addition and subtraction as they use the games to reinforce the skills. These materials will help make the learning environment fun capture the students attention. The materials will help the students stay engaged and focused during the school year.
