This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our kindergarteners are curious, hands-on learners who thrive when learning is active and meaningful. We want to bring the experience of a farmers market to life in our classroom and school community! This project will give students the opportunity to learn about healthy food, local farming, money skills, and entrepreneurship through their very own mini farmers market. This project connects them with real-world knowledge and build healthy habits. Plus, it's fun, creative and build confidence though role play and teamwork.

The wooden market stand, pretend produce, will allow student to set up their own farmer's market in class.

They will role-play as sellers and shoppers, practicing math by counting money and making change, using signs to support reading and writing, and learning about nutrition and where food comes from. These materials will make our learning come alive through play and collaboration. With your support, our students will develop lifelong skills in a joyful, meaningful way!
